Baby Gifts

I made a few hair bows to give as a baby gift for a friend of mine. She is a New Orleans Saints fan, so I made her a Saints bow (bottom center). I like hers better than mine. The pink bow was made with an extra loop. I don't think the extra loop and extra ribbon made the bow and more special than the regular bows.

Sports Teams

Football season is now here and Claire needed new hair accessories to wear while watching LSU football and the New Orleans Saints. The top bow is 3 ribbons together with purple on the bottom, yellow in the middle, and white with rhinestones on the top. I did not glue the rhinestones on this one - the ribbon came that way. I looked everywhere for a tiger and finally found one at Hobby Lobby for $3. This is the most expensive hair accessory/hair bow I have made so far because of the tiger and 3 rolls of ribbon at $2 each (half off sale - regularly $4). The total cost ended up around $9 which is still cheaper than purchasing a boutique bow. Plus, she can't outgrow this bow like she can a shirt, so she will get lots of use out of it.

The black and gold bow is a bit more simple. I got the ribbon from Walmart. I had a hard time finding a fleur-de-lis. I found a pewter charm at Hobby Lobby for $1.50. I wish it was gold and I wish it was bigger, but at least it is a fleur-de-lis.

Small Rhinestones

For my next set of bows, I decided to use the small rhinestones that I had left over from another project. I made a basic bow and glued little rhinestones on the fabric. The pink bow on the left just has pink rhinestones while the rainbow colored bow on the right has many colors of rhinestones glued to their coordinating colored stripe.

Feathers and Rhinestones

The hair bow on the left is obviously for Halloween. I made 2 separate pinwheel hair bows and sewed them together stacked on top of each other. I then glued the feathers between the layers and glued the jack-o-lantern on top of that. I did the same for the black one on the right, except the feathers are glued to the back of hair bow and a rhinestone is glued to the top.

Flowers

Here are some flower hair accessories that I made. The pink one is a daisy and the white one is a mum. The pink one tends to stick up, which shows the hair clip. I like the white one better because it is more flat on the bottom and fluffier. To make these, simply disassemble the flower and glue all the petals together lining up the hole in the middle. Next, glue on the center of the flower or a rhinestone.
